Winter Warmth – Irish Coffee

The Irish Coffee has been around for a LONG time. An absolute Winter staple, this drink has always consisted of Irish Whiskey, Brown Sugar, Hot Coffee and Cream, which the coffee is drunk through. There is some debate about who originated this drink, but it’s always been somewhat the same.

What You’ll Need:

  • Irish Whiskey
  • Brown Sugar
  • Hot Espresso
  • Whipped Cream

Garnish: Coffee Beans

Making the Drink:

This is the easiest, quickest way:

  • Add 40ml of Irish Whiskey to the Irish Coffee Mug
  • Add 1 barspoon of Brown Sugar
  • Fill with Hot Espresso
  • Stir
  • Float Whipped Cream on top
  • Garnish with 3 Coffee Beans
  • Serve and enjoy

Feeling Fancy?

A dash of maple syrup will add a richness to this cocktail, and if you wanted to take it further, nutmeg on top adds a lovely smell! Another thing that could fancy up this classic, is making your own whipped cream and flavouring it, you could do coffee, vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, or anything you like.
